Al iniciar este hermoso tiempo de Cuaresma, por lo general, nos detenemos a pensar qué hacer para la Cuaresma, o para ser más directos, qué "sacrificaremos", durante la Cuaresma. Los Católicos llevamos muy adentro de nosotros una larga tradición en hacer actos penitenciales durante los cuarenta días para prepararnos para la Pascua. Dichos sacrificios provienen de nuestro entendimiento sobre la modificación, es decir, morir uno mismo para que Cristo resucite dentro de nosotros en la Pascua. SALT LAKE CITY — The faithful gathered at Saint Patrick Parish in Salt Lake City on Feb. 11 for World Day for the Sick. The Celebration of the Eucharist with conferral of Anointing of the Sick was offered to the sick and elderly. Father Lourduraj Gally Gregory, pastor, mentioned that Feb. 11 also is the feast day of Our Lady of Lourdes, who is Fr. Gally’s patron saint; his pastor in India named him at the request of his parents. >>>

SALT LAKE CITY — During Catholic Schools Week, Saint Vincent de Paul School student council collected sundry items for the refugee ministry program for Catholic Community Services (CCS). Over 1,654 items and $244 in cash was donated making 40 care bags for refugee families. Tess McTeague, an 8th-grader and student council member at St. Vincent’s, said, "This was a great experience to take part in and help people with items that we take for granted." >>>
