Teacher shares Spanish with all grades

BOUNTIFUL – Every student at Saint Olaf School has the opportunity to learn a second language. This effort started last school year because of the interest of Jo Ann Emery, principal, and with the help of Kimberly Turner, the Spanish teacher.

SALT LAKE CITY — Un taller titulado ‘Respeto por la Dignidad de la Vida", organizado por la oficina de la Familia de la Diócesis Católica de Salt Lake City junto al comité de Respeto por la Vida, reflejará la importancia de la ‘Vida’en todos los sentidos de esta palabra; antes de la concepción, después de la concepción y al final de la vida por la muerte natural.

BOUNTIFUL — Cada uno de los estudiantes de la Escuela Católica de St. Olaf en Bountiful ha tenido la oportunidad de aprender un segundo idioma. Este esfuerzo comenzó el pasado año escolar debido al interés de Jo Ann Emery, directora de la escuela quien junto con la ayuda y apoyo de Kimberly Turner, maestra de español, hizo posible esto.

SALT LAKE CITY — In 2006, just after returning from Bagdad as a civilian employee, retired U.S. Marine Corps Col. Ray Bachiller agreed to help military families in another of his roles. As Veterans Affairs Chairman for the Utah Knights of Columbus, Bachiller agreed to spearhead the fundraising to build a Fisher House next to the Veterans Administration hospital in Salt Lake City.

Church, ward find charity is a common thread

CLINTON —With needle and thread, scissors and sewing machines, women – and a few men – from Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Layton and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 27th Ward in Clinton stitched bonds of friendship while they crafted items for expectant mother layettes to donate to hospitals in northern Utah.
