SALT LAKE CITY – Cientos de personas de diferentes nacionalidades se dieron cita el 10 de diciembre en la Catedral de la Magdalena para celebrar el 479avo. Aniversario de la aparición de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe ante San Juan Diego en el cerro del Tepeyac en la ciudad de México. El Papa Juan Pablo II la nombró Patrona de las Américas en 1999 y su celebración es el 12 de diciembre pero este año la Diócesis Católica de Salt Lake City realizó las celebraciones días antes ya que su día cayó en domingo y éste fue el tercer domingo de Adviento.

>>>The students at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School celebrated Veterans’ Day with a Navy Honor Guard. The servicemen are stationed at the Naval Reserve Center, Salt Lake City. Their performance at the ceremony was outstanding. The students sat in awe as the servicemen entered the gym in formation and posted colors. After the students saluted the flag and sang "God Bless America" the servicemen dismissed. This was followed by bagels and coffee for veterans from many wars, including Marine Sgt. Major Nick Lopez (shown), who visited the classrooms and spoke to the students about their experiences.
