SALT LAKE CITY — William M. O’Keefe, 91, died May 18.

O’Keefe was born Jan. 2, 1918, in Park City to William John and Pearl Martin O’Keefe. He graduated from Park City High School, the top of his class in 1936. He worked at the Silver King Mine, and served in the U.S. Navy on board the Epping Forest for 18 months during World War II. He married his sister’s best friend, Faun Cossey March 18, 1946, in Park City. He worked as a millwright at the Tooele Army Depot in 1951 and retired as a project estimator in 1978, and worked at Standard Plumbing in Kearns until 1981. He enjoyed retirement, spending time with his grandchildren, golfing, camping, traveling, and having his navy buddy reunions with his three close shipmates.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Faun; daughters, Peggy (Flamminio) DiSera, Kathy (Mark) Powell, and Cindy O’Keefe; grandchildren, Danielle (Harry), Jennifer (John), Billy (Becca), Angela (Jamie), Caren (Ben), Jonathan, and Matthew (Gina); and eight great-grandchildren. A funeral Mass was celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Salt Lake City. Committal was in Park City Cemetery.
