SALT LAKE CITY — Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic School held its first ?Math Night? Oct. 21 for students in grades kindergarten through fifth. Each classroom was set up as a specific continent. Students and their parents were given a ?passport? and a clue about a continent, then had to solve their clue to proceed to that ?continent.? Once students completed the math games for that continent, they got a passport stamp, received the next clue, and proceeded that continent. There were six continents; the seventh stop was for a ?penguin? treat at their starting point. The middle school students at St. Vincent participated as well. The 6th graders were the passport agents, the 7th graders were trained to run the math games and the 8th graders hosted the dinner before the games as a service project to raise money for the Salt Lake Food Bank.
