NOTRE DAME, Ind. — Holy Cross Sister Mary Farrer (Marie Helene), 86, died Dec. 8, in Notre Dame, Ind. Sr. Mary was born Aug. 23, 1922, in Shelley, Idaho, to James and Helen Russell Farrer. Sr. Mary received her bachelor of arts degree in education, and taught at Saint Joseph Catholic High School in Ogden, Bishop Glass School in Salt Lake City, and Saint Mary of the Wasatch in Salt Lake City. A funeral Mass was celebrated at the Church of Our Lady of Loretto, Saint Mary’s Convent, Notre Dame, Ind. She is survived by her niece, Lisa Stephens; nephews, Jimmy Farrer, Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Tom Farrer, Shelley, Idaho; and cousin, Virginia McWilliams, Salt Lake City.
