SALT LAKE CITY —Rose Ann Kuenstler, 88, died peacefully Sept. 4. Kuenstler was born July 22, 1920, in Passaic, N.J., to John and Therese Marafiote Argenio. She relocated with her family to Westport, Conn. After marrying Leo Kuenstler June 7, 1941, they settled in Norwalk, Conn. They had one daughter, Linda Kuenstler Itami. She loved children, and was employed by several families to take care of their children. Kuenstler was a devoted wife and mother. She loved to cook and was known for her homemade lasagna. She loved to shop and wear color-coordinated outfits. After her husband died, she depended on her good friend Gerald Cummings for his friendship. They traveled to Jamaica in the West Indies many times, as well as taking many trips to Salt Lake City to see her daughter. Two years ago, she moved to Salt Lake City to be closer to her daughter. She joined the Catholic Woman’s League, enjoyed the Utah Symphony, and the Utah Jazz. She is survived by her daughter Linda (Jeff) Itami; granddaughters, Zoe Humphrey (Joseph) Cunniff, Salt Lake City, and Suzanne Itami (Patrick) Hug, Phoenix, Ariz.; great-grandchildren, Adrienne, Lachlan, and Donovan Murphy, Salt Lake City; sisters, Mary (Wallace) Breither, Jane Borchetta, Connecticut, and Jo-Ann (Cecil) Kinney, Florida; and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Saint Ambrose Catholic Church.
