The timeless tale of 'Cinderella' will be presented by The Performing Arts Department at Juan Diego Catholic High School.

The Performing Arts Department at Juan Diego Catholic High School will bring to life another timeless tale with the Rodgers & Hammerstein hallmarks of originality, charm and elegance in “Cinderella.”

More than 70 students auditioned in May; 44 were selected as cast. Students also comprise the technical staff that designed, built and painted the sets, and operate the sound, lighting and stage equipment. The musical will also feature a live orchestra in the pit. Led by performing arts director Steve Pay, dance instructor Shelti Thompson, and voice directors Dr. Brian and Erika Manternach, the Juan Diego faculty help students bring to the stage their vision of the young kitchen maiden becoming a princess with a little help of magic from her Fairy Godmother. The production is sure to be a crowd pleaser for both young and old.

Performances are 7 p.m. Oct. 28-30 and Nov. 1 at the Juan Diego Auditorium, 300 East 11800 South in Draper. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for children and seniors.

Tickets may be purchased in advance at the high school beginning Oct. 8, or at the door the night of the performances. For information, call 801-984-7650 or visit www.jdchs.org.
