SALT LAKE CITY — Richard Hays O’Donnell (Dick), 86, passed away from congestive heart failure Jan. 21, 2014. O’Donnell was born July 24, 1927, in Salt Lake City to Jack E. and Mary Louise Hays O’Donnell. He married Evelyn Rino on April 16, 1955. He was a long-time member of Saint Ambrose Catholic Church, the 49ers Club and served in the U.S. Army. He worked as a Salt Lake City police officer; funeral director and office manager of Evans & Early Mortuary; and retired as vice president of U.S. Bank. O’Donnell is survived by wife Evelyn; children Steven (Cindy), Susan (David) Flaim and Rick; two grandchildren; a brother, Colonel (Ret.) Edward Hays O’Donnell; and brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother John Hays O’Donnell. A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Ambrose Catholic Church.
