Happy Birthday Mary Miller! The Blessed Sacrament parishioner will celebrate her 80th birthday on Oct. 13.

Happy Birthday Fr. Jim Semple! This retired priest, who often celebrates Mass at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, celebrated his 75th birthday on Oct. 3.

A Holy Connection. Besides that they miss sharing a birthday by only one day, did you know that Fr. Carley and Fr. Semple also grew up in the same town of Thurles in Ireland? Fr. Carley was also the altar server at the first Mass at which Fr. Semple presided.

Zhùhè! Michiko Zaharias a 2005 Judge Memorial alumni, has been accepted to and is now working at the world-renowned Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute in China. This intensive workshop began in September and continues through mid-December. The institute is located in Yixing, the teapot capital of China. Michiko will finish her studies in clay upon returning to Utah State University. Tom Bettin, Michiko’s former high school art teacher at Judge Memorial, says the entire Bulldog community is very proud of her.

Why I Like My Community For the second year in a row, a J.E. Cosgriff Memorial School student has won the 7th-grade category of the 2010 Leagues of Cities and Towns essay contest. Responding to the theme ‘Why I Like My Community,’ Mikaela Schmiett wrote, "My neighborhood is a great place to live. The people are so nice and understanding, and if you are going through a hard time in your family or work, my neighborhood will do all they can to comfort you and your family."
