Happy 90th Birthday! Rita Fitzpatrick, of St. John the Baptist Parish in Draper, celebrated her 90th birthday in early October and oh, what a celebration it was! Rita attended her eldest of 22 great grandchildren, Cody Stevenson’s, football game at Dixie State College that day. She was later joined by more than 50 family members spanning three generations from eight states for a wonderful birthday tribute. This outpouring of love is the direct result of Rita’s unconditional love. She never misses a birthday and she prays unceasingly for them all.

Happy 90th Birthday! Billie Deal-Ridl, of St. Rose of Lima Parish will celebrate her birthday, October 17th with an open house at her daughter’s followed by a family dinner.Happy Anniversary! Clark & Michele Harris, who attend St. Rose of Lima Parish in Layton, celebrated their 23rd wedding anniversary on Oct. 10.

Silver Lining! Deacon Paul and Cathy Graham of Saint John the Baptist Parish celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on Oct. 12 with a trip to Kauai. For the trip, other than shorts, they packed books so they could spend their vacation lying on the beach and getting caught up on their reading.

Welcome! The Sisters of the Holy Cross welcome two second-year novices for a three-month mission experience in Utah. Sister Luciana de Paula Soares, from Brazil, will be living at Our Lady of Lourdes Convent and working at Holy Cross Ministries. Sister Lucy Agitok Sangma, from India, will be living at the Holy Cross Convent in Draper and working at St. John the Baptist Elementary and St. Andrew schools. Attorney at Law! Kerri Sparks Judge Memorial Class of 2001 passed the Bar Exam in Colorado. She is now able to practice in both Colorado and Nevada.One smart cookie! Kyle Harris, Northridge High Class of 2008, was awarded an academic scholarship to St. Edward’s Catholic University in Austin, Texas, where he is pursuing a degree in business. He’s also on The St. Edward’s Hilltopper baseball team. At Northridge Kyle was the team captain in his junior and senior years; in his senior year he was chosen to play on two All-Star games and in 2008 he was voted First Team All Area, Second-team, All-State, as a Catcher for Utah.

The 2010-11 49 Club officers are Dean Betenos, treasurer; Noreen Slaymaker, president; Beverly Thrall, vice president; Father Andrew Skrzypiec, pastor; Rachel Onreat, historian; and Nancy Dean, secretary.
