Lucky 13! Father Marco T. Lopez, parochial vicar of Saint Mary of the Assumption, will celebrate the 13th anniversary of his ordination on Nov. 20.Ring the Bells! Monsignor Joseph M. Mayo, pastor of the Cathedral of the Madeleine, will celebrate the 37th anniversary of his ordination on Nov. 23.

The Doctor is IN! Dr. Jose Azarcon, Jr., Judge Memorial Catholic High School Class of 1982, was graded as a ‘Five-Star Doctor’ in Denver Magazine. A University of Utah graduate, Dr. Azarcon practices family medicine at Rocky Mountain Health Care in Colorado. He and his wife, Cinaman, have four children.

Need for Speed! Luke Bettin, Judge Memorial Catholic High School Class of 2010, just finished his first year of competition on the Mesa State College (Colo.) downhill bike racing team. Based on his fall performances, Luke was invited to ride on the Mesa State road cycling team, which has finished in the top four nationwide for the last four years, including winning its collegiate division.

Roughing it for the Lord! This year students from the University of Utah Newman Center went to Bear Lake to reflect on their theme, "Stone into Flowing Springs" (Psalm 114:8). The camping trip included exploring the Paris Ice Caves, hikes and reflections on the images of rock and water from a Christian perspective. Although a bit cold, the 11 participants had a great time.

Remembered Always. Saint Paul Catholic Center in Hurricane celebrated a Memorial Mass on Oct. 30 remembering Mary Jane Snedeker, who had been a member since the center started. The event was the first funeral for the center.

Father Martin Picos presided with Deacon Willie Folkes assisting. The Knights of Columbus Honor Guard also was present.
