Five students from two Utah Catholic high schools have been recognized as finalists in the National Merit Scholarship Program. They are Juan Diego CHS students Erin Chan, Aidan Mulligan and Olivia Young, and St. Joseph CHS students Elijah Norman and Madilyne Beaudry. These students are among just over 7,000 students nationwide chosen as finalists. The National Merit Scholarship Program is an annual academic competition among high school students for recognition and college scholarships that began in 1955. Students enter the National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
