Kathryn Devlin Loffredo

Kathryn Devlin Loffredo passed away at her home June 21, 2011 surrounded by her family.

She was born in Ogden, Utah on Sept. 26, 1924, to James Devlin and Catherine McDonald Devlin. She was raised and educated in Ogden, graduating from Ogden High School in 1942. During World War II she was employed by the Federal Government as an editor in the quartermaster supply section, Utah General Depot. She married John P. Loffredo on March 18, 1946 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ogden.

She was a member and served as president of the Reserve Officers Association Ladies Club, Promoters of the Sacred Heart League, St. Joseph Catholic Church. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, shopping, Jazz games and traveling with her children.

She is survived by two sons: Joseph James, Ogden, and John Michael (Laura) Skillman, N.J.; three daughters: Cathy Ann, Tucson, Ariz.; Camille, Layton; and Joan, Salt Lake City; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and one due in June: Lisa (Tyler Nealson), Jenny, Jody (Matthew Lindley), Matthew, Anthony (Jennifer), Alexis R., Julia K.,Thomas J., Samantha, Joshua, Sage, Connor, Boston, Noelle, and Abigal. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son (Anton), grandchild (Heidi) and eleven siblings.

The family will meet friends at St. James the Just Catholic Church, 495 N. Harrison St. in Ogden on Friday, June 3, at 6:30 p.m. with rosary recited at 7:30 p.m. A Mass of the Christian Burial will be held Saturday, June 4 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 547 24th St. in Ogden, at 10 a.m. Graveside services will be held at Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th St., Ogden, Utah immediately following Mass.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to Legacy Heathcare for the quality of care they gave to Kathryn and her family.
