The Beggars Banquet for Judge Memorial Catholic High School classmates was held Aug. 1 in Paul and Joy Hansen’s backyard for classmates mostly from 1965-1975. Band members from Icarus and Mocha Joe blended together to the play the same songs they played for high school dances and sock hops. The Beggars Banquet started 30 years ago when the guys wanted to join the girls who were meeting for lunch. That turned into a party and that has grown into a potluck banquet. “This is everybody’s party,” said Paul Hansen. “People come to this party who don’t normally go to the reunions.” During the event, the Class of 1971 girls talked about the closing of Saint Mary of the Wasatch and attending JMCHS their senior year with the boys. “It was stressful at first; we missed St. Mary’s, then we became tight,” said Katie Tobari.
