Students in the painting class at Juan Diego Catholic High School created and donated to Catholic Community Service of Northern Utah’s Joyce Hansen Hall food pantry a 30-foot mural depicting scenes of agriculture and the Ogden community. Shown on May 9 installing the mural, which has five panels, are senior Sarah Liebrecht and freshman Ethan Foreman, and instructor Jim McGee. Foreman did most of the work on the mural, McGee said, adding that a second mural that is almost complete likely will be placed on the pantry’s north wall by next year’s painting class. Rebecca Van Maren, CCS Northern Utah’s volunteer coordinator, said the mural will help provide a welcoming environment for the food pantry’s clients and volunteers.
