SANDY — Joseph Okamura, 76, passed away Jan. 18, 2012.

Okamura was born in Burmester, Utah on March 15, 1934 to Yoheiji and Angelina Okamura. He served in the Air Force with the 561st Fighter Bomber Squadron, 388th Fighter Wing. He served as a crew chief, working on the F-86 Sabre Fighter. He married Nancy Howard.

Okamura is survived by his six children: Crystal, MiLinda Okamura, Joseph C. Okamura, Jennifer Richards, Anthony Okamura and Victoria (Bryce) Frankenberry; four grandchildren; mother, Angelina Okamura; siblings Frank (Aleena) Okamura, Esther (Frank) Sasaki, Linda (Les) Fuller and William Louie.

Okamura was preceded in death by his father, Yoheiji Okamura; sisters Merrie Louie and Ruby Lopez; brother-in-law Gilbert Lopez and son-in-law, Kenneth Richards.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at Saint Ann Catholic Church.
