SALT LAKE CITY — John K. Barber, 78, died Feb. 22. Barber was born May 29, 1930, in Salt Lake City to Dominic and Jennie Madeline Barber. He graduated from West High School in 1948. He served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. Barber married Marcia Wing, the love of his life, on Sept. 12, 1959. He retired from Asbestos Workers, Local 69. He is survived by his wife, Marcia; daughter, Brenda; son, Brent (Michelle); grandchildren, Justin (Dawn), Travis (Mireya), and Nichole; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Bob (Darlene) and William (Marge); sisters, Elaine Kitterer and Florence Oliver. A funeral Mass was celebrated at Saint Patrick Catholic Church. Committal was in Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Saint Patrick Catholic Church, 1058 West 400 South, Salt Lake City, Utah 84104.
