MIDVALE — Jerry C. Petruzzi, 85, died Nov. 13. He was a member of St. Therese of the Child Jesus Parish.

Petruzzi was born March 17, 1922, to Generoso and Consalata Petruzzi in Melrose Park, Ill. He grew up with a love for sports, especially baseball and the Chicago Cubs. He was invited to practice with them because of his athletic ability. During World War II, he worked as a recruiter for the United States Army in Salt Lake City. He married Betty Bonecher July 19, 1947, at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Parish, Midvale. With faith in Jesus, a devotion to Our Blessed Mother, and a positive attitude, Petruzzi was driven in his working career. He began with Hogan Dairy, then his own Valley TV Repair Service, as well as his vending and distributing business.

He is survived by his four children, Priscilla, Duane, Craig (Julie) Burns, and Connie (Brendon) Cordova; sister, Frances Harrelson; sister-in-law, Rena Baker; and many nieces and nephews.
