Scott Layden, assistant coach for the Utah Jazz, was the featured speaker at the most recent quarterly dinner sponsored by the Catholic Business Network. Among those at March 15 dinner was the Most Rev. John C. Wester, bishop of Salt Lake City, who had gone to the Jazz game the previous night. Layden spoke of his memories of Jazz greats Mark Eaton, John Stockton and Karl Malone, and how their work ethic helped develop the team. He also showed film clips from the game and analyzed the plays. Layden, who attended Catholic schools through college, attends daily Mass at Saint Ambrose Parish in Salt Lake City during the basketball season. He said his Catholic upbringing has helped him with his teaching, being patient and with his family. The March 15 dinner was hosted by Michael Fuoco, a CBN parish representative at Blessed Sacrament Parish and business services supervisor at Comcast Business Cable Services.
