Forever on the Beach

On May 20, 2019 our beloved Jim passed away from complications with cancer. His wife, children and close friends were there as he passed from this world to join those awaiting him on the other side.

James Parker was born on September 14, 1968 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Aubrey and Mary Ann (Checkettes) Parker. He was the youngest of five brothers: Paul, Richard, Steven and Dan. He was preceded in death by his parents.

On August 6, 2011 Susan Tinker became his bride, his true love for life. Together, they enjoyed fishing, camping, boating and spending quality time with their family.

He is survived by his wife, Susan; daughters Kaylee Parker, Jessica Pechmann (George), Ashley Steyn (Rench); brothers Paul, Dan, Steve and Richard; as well as three grandchildren: Oliver, Hendrik and Helen, who loved and adored their “papa” dearly.

Jim enjoyed working hard and spent most of his career as a flooring specialist. When not working you could always find him in the garden or fishing. His favorite fishing and boating areas were Flaming Gorge and Currant Creek. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed rabbit hunting and antelope hunting. He loved spending time with his family going camping and on vacations to the beach.

Jim was baptized Roman Catholic at St. Joseph the Worker Parish by his close friend and pastor, Father Patrick F. Carley, on Easter 2011. He was blessed to have Gerard and Pauline Collet as his sponsors. Everyone will remember Jim with his quick sense of humor, great smile, generosity and overall zest for life. Jim had many lifelong friends and helped anyone in need.

A funeral Mass was celebrated on May 29 by Fr. Carley at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church.
