Ice Fishing on Strawberry Lake

Believe it or not, I went ice fishing on my day off earlier this week. Mike Ramirez, who works with Matt Boerke in our youth and young adult office, invited me to join him and a few of his friends. I was a little incredulous at first, since I am not used to walking on water, even if it is frozen. I had visions of falling through until I saw that that auger went down almost three feet! That gave me a little more confidence and I even took one of the snowmobiles on a spin on the ice. I didn’t break any speed records but I wasn’t interested in impressing anyone – just staying alive! I am finally experiencing some great Utah outdoor fun and I must say, it was thoroughly enjoyable. Many thanks, Mike, for a great day off! Cross-country skiing is next. I’ll let you know how I do!
