Parishioners at Saint Paul Mission in Hurricane celebrated Halloween with an old-fashioned potluck on Oct. 30. Party-goers were asked to come in costume and with a carved pumpkin; there were prizes for both categories. The mission was established in 2009. Mass is celebrated the first and fourth Sundays of each month. On other Sundays they hold a SCAP service. On Mondays they venerate the Eucharist during Holy Hour, and this year they are considering a service in December in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe, preceded by a 9-day novena. Recently, Saint George Parish presented the mission with several gifts: a monstrance, a portable baptism fountain, an incense burner and a benediction cape. The monstrance holds a larger Host than the one the mission previously used, and will be more visible to the members.
