Dorothy M. Ingalls

SALT LAKE CITY — Dorothy Marie Yurick Ingalls, 79, died Aug. 30, after a brief and courageous battle with brain lymphoma.

Ingalls was born Jan. 22, 1929, in Roundup, Mont., to Mark and Mamie Yusick. At age 18, she left Montana to attend fashion design school in Washington, D. C. There she met and married Boyd F. Ingalls Sept. 9, 1950. They later moved to Salt Lake City, where she was a devoted mother to six children. She created a home of warmth and beauty, tempting everyone with gourmet meals, clothes made by hand, and a garden full of roses. She was very independent and self-assured.

She is survived by her children, Bryon (Toni), Carol (Dale) Matuska, Christopher (Diane), Diane (ex-husband Steve) Reid, Susan (Todd) Brashear, and Jennifer (Jeff) Drutman; and nine grandchildren.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Committal was in Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
