On June 13, Saint Lawrence Mission in Heber held an open house to celebrate the 100th anniversary of its building, which originally was constructed as the local Second Ward for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and now has been designated as a National Historic Site. The Diocese of Salt Lake City began using the building in 1967. Prior to 1913, the site was home to a Methodist church, which was moved to the Center Creek area when the land was purchased by the LDS Church. Shown during the open house are Geneva Howarth Anderson, who attended events in the building when it was used as the Second Ward, and St. Lawrence parishioner Larry Fagot.
