SANDY Cool, drizzly weather didn't dampen the spirits of Blessed Sacrament Catholic elementary/middle school students and their families as they walked in Liberty Park on Oct. 9 to raise money for the fight against breast cancer.
This is the second year that students from the school have participated in this event; they collected more than $2,040 in donations. Students and families walked in remembrance of those who are fighting the disease, those who have fought and survived the disease, and for those community members who have died from the disease.
The American Cancer Society has been hosting the ?Making Strides Against Breast Cancer? walk since 1993 and has raised more than $400 million to help find cures through groundbreaking research.
