As part of the National Education Association (NEA) Read Across America program, now in its 11th year, Blessed Sacrament School hosted author Tedd Arnold March 4. Arnold is originally from Elmira, New York, grew up in Florida, and earned a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Florida. His work as a commercial illustrator and the influence of his wife who worked as a kindergarten teacher, eventually led him to author and illustrate nearly 60 children’s books. His book, "Hi! Fly Guy" received the 2006 Theodor Seuss Geisel Honor from the American Library Association. Arnold spent the day with the children speaking of his adventures in writing, illustrating for them, and entertaining them all at age appropriate levels.

His audiences from pre-kindergarten to the eighth grade were captivated with his wit and humor. During the afternoon, he personally signed more than 250 books for the students.
