Family Planning — The Diocese of Salt Lake City, in cooperation with Intermountain Fertility Care Center, is offering an introductory session on the Creighton Model System of Natural Family Planning, which can be helpful for a wide variety of issues: irregular cycles, trouble conceiving, difficulty maintaining a pregnancy, avoiding pregnancy, and monitoring gynecologic health. Halloween Adult Dinner Dance — Friday, Oct. 28, doors open at 6 p.m. Hosted by St. Patrick Parish’s Council of Catholic Women. Live music by “Pura Sangre.” Costume contest, prizes and opportunity drawings.  Must be at least 21 years of age to attend.  Cost: $10 in advance, $12 at the door. Jubilee Year of Mercy Pilgrimage — to the Cathedral of the Madeleine, sponsored by Saints Peter and Paul Parish. Best practices — for inviting, assisting and organizing fellow parishioners to deepen, in concrete ways, their baptismal call to social ministry. Three-part training by the Diocese of Salt Lake City and Catholic Relief Services: 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Oct. 29, Nov. 12 and Dec. 10. Registration required. Solemnity of All Saints — Tuesday, Nov. 1, is a holy day of obligation. Check your parish for Mass times. Masses will be at 8 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 E. South Temple.

First Friday Mass — with rosary and social sponsored by the Catholic Woman’s League. Friday, Nov. 4, beginning with the rosary at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Ambrose Parish, 1975 South 2300 East, SLC. Festive Follies — Nov. 4-6, at St. James the Just Catholic Church, 495 N. Harrison Blvd., Ogden. 80 booths for holiday shopping. Hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday; 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.  

St. Joseph Villa Volunteer Luncheon — Saturday, Nov. 5, starting with an 11:30 a.m. social at the St. Ambrose Parish social center, 1975 South 2300 East, SLC. “A Nutty Affair” is the theme and The “Mixed Nuts Band” will create the feel of a fun and crazy, nutty party. Help a Parishioner — Nancy Johnson, a Saint Ann parishioner is in need of the Pauza Discseel  medical procedure, to alleviate pain. Scouting Religious Emblems — Now is the time for all Scouts to begin work on and complete the appropriate Scout-related Religious Emblem. Information for Venture Crews, Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts religious emblems is available at nccs-bsa.org.  Girl Scouts, refer to nccgscf.org. Application deadline is Dec. 21 so the emblems and certificates can be ordered in time for Scout Saturday, which will be held at the Cathedral of the Madeleine next year.
