Founders’ Day Concert — King’s College Choir of Cambridge will perform as part of the Choir of the Cathedral of the Madeleine’s annual concert season. Piano Recital — Scott Larrabee, pianist and music director at St. Vincent de Paul School, will perform the first of four recitals on Saturday, April 1, 7 p.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1385 Spring Lane, Holladay. The recital series will include the entire ragtime catalog and songs of Scott Joplin. Admission is free, but a freewill offering will be taken up to benefit Sr. Angela’s assistance program for the poor.

Lenten Concert — Sunday, April 2 at 3 p.m. in Holy Family Catholic Church, 1100 East 5550 South, Ogden. Dr. Myron Patterson, organist, with The Holy Family Ladies Schola Cantorum will present a recital of music for Lent and the Easter season. Free and open to the public.

Chrism Mass — Thursday, April 6, 7 p.m. in the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 E. South Temple. All are welcome to attend.

Parish Game Night — Friday, April 7 at St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 65 East 500 North, Orem. Dinner is served at 6:30 p.m., games start at 7 p.m., $14 to attend. 

RCIA Retreat for the Elect — All RCIA Elect and Godparents are invited to attend a retreat with Fr. Gustavo Vidal on Saturday, April 8, 9 a.m.-noon at St. John the Baptist Parish, 300 East 11800 South, Draper. For information, contact the Office of Liturgy, 801-328-8641, ext. 363.

Kids Lent Retreat — Saturday, April 8, 9 a.m. to noon at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 11835 South 3600 West, Riverton. For kids ages 4-11.

Easter Triduum — begins with the Evening Mass of the Lord’s Supper on Holy Thursday, April 13, and concludes with Vespers on Easter Sunday. Check your parish for Mass times.

Pastoral Center Closed — on Friday, April 14, for Good Friday. The Pastoral Center will reopen at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, April 17.

Good Friday Choral Meditation — Friday, April 14, 3 p.m. in the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 E. South Temple, SLC. The Choir of the Cathedral of the Madeleine, featuring the Choristers of the Madeleine Choir School, will perform the music of G. B. Da Pergolesi’s Stabat mater. Free and open to the public.

Holy Saturday/Easter Vigil — Saturday, April 15. Bishop Oscar A. Solis has determined that the Easter Vigil may not begin earlier than 8:30 p.m. in the Diocese of Salt Lake City. Check your parish for Mass times.
Easter Sunday — is April 16. Check your parish for Mass times.

75th Anniversary Celebration — The weekend of April 28-29, St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church’s community will celebrate their 75th anniversary. The anniversary Mass will be Friday, April 28 at 5:30 p.m. at the church, 725 South 250 East, Hyde Park; a Newman Club reunion is planned for April 29 beginning at 10 a.m. at the Newman Center, 800 East adjacent to USU campus. Diocesan Music Festival —Saturday, April 29, 1-3 p.m.., at St. John the Baptist Parish, 300 East 11800 South, Draper. The festival will include performances by choirs and musicians from around the diocese.  For information, contact the Office of Liturgy at 801-328-8641 ext. 363. Free and open to the public. 

Catholics Can Award — Nominations are being accepted through June 1 for the Diocese of Salt Lake City’s Catholics Can Award by the Diocesan Commission for People with Disabilities. This annual award is given to an individual, parish or organization that ensures meaningful participation by people with disabilities in Catholic parish life. Artists wanted — the “St. Dymphna Art Exhibition” will feature artists who live with a mental illness and those who support them in their journeys. To participate in this juried exhibit, contact Jacque Smithe, 801-214-4237. Submission deadline is April 22; the show will run May 16 to June 13.

Bircumshaw, vicar general, reminds all pastors, deacons, principals, religious and laity charged with creating calendars for their parish, school or Catholic organization that in keeping with a longstanding policy, no local events should be scheduled to conflict with the annual diocesan Pastoral Congress on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017.
