Vigil for First Sunday of Advent — Saturday, Dec. 1, at 7 p.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Newman Center, 170 University St., SLC. The night will consist of Adoration, the prayer of the psalms, meditation on ancient Advent readings, and 6th-century Byzantine chant “Akathist to the Theotokos.” All are invited.

Mass at Our Lady of the Snows — The celebration of the Sunday Eucharist will resume at Our Lady of the Snows Chapel beginning Dec. 2 at 5 p.m. Alta. The chapel is located directly across from the Alta Lodge and below the Alta City offices. Mass will continue throughout the ski season, ending in April. Mass on Christmas and Easter will be at 10 a.m.
