Forty Hours for Vocations — The Cathedral of the Madeleine is hosting a 40-hour devotion for the intention of vocations to the priesthood and consecrated life that will run Monday, Nov. 30 through Friday, Dec. 4. Eucharistic Adoration will begin daily after the 8 a.m. Mass and end before the 5:15 p.m. Mass. Signup sheets are available in the cathedral vestibule.  

Christ in the City — Young adults are invited to Adoration and Confession Wednesday, Dec. 2, at 7 p.m. in the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 E. South Temple, SLC.

Coats for Kids Distribution — Saturday, Dec. 5, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Holy Family Parish, 1100 East 5550 South, Ogden. Due to the pandemic, this year the Knights of Columbus will conduct a drive-through coats distribution. To receive a coat, the child must be present and accompanied by an adult; one coat per child.

Holy Day of Obligation — The Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, patroness of the United States, is a holy day of obligation. The Cathedral of the Madeleine will have a vigil Mass Monday, Dec. 7 at 5:15 p.m. Mass also will be livestreamed on the cathedral’s YouTube channel, cotmtv. Check your parish for Mass times.

Our Lady of Guadalupe Celebration —  The Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Mother of the Americas and Secondary Patroness of the Diocese of Salt Lake City, is Saturday, Dec. 12. The Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 E. South Temple, SLC, will begin celebrations in Spanish on Friday, Dec. 11 at 8:30 p.m. with mariachi. The rosary will be at 9:30 p.m. Mass with Bishop Oscar A. Solis will be at 10 p.m. Because of restrictions in place due to the pandemic, the traditional procession and reception have been canceled.

Eccles Organ Festival — Sunday, Dec. 13, 8 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 E. South Temple, SLC. The Brass Quintet of the Utah Symphony will join cathedral organist Gabriele Terrone for a program that will feature music by Praetorius, Bach, Gigout and others, and will conclude with the singing of “O Come, O Come Emmanuel.” Limited seating available on a first-come first-served basis starting at 7:15 p.m. The concert will be livestreamed on the Eccles Festival’s YouTube channel.

Christmas Mass — The Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 E. South Temple, SLC, will celebrate the Christmas Mass at Night at 10 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 24. Social distancing requirements will be observed. The Mass will be livestreamed on the cathedral’s YouTube channel, cotmtv. Check your parish for Mass times.  

Volunteers Needed — at the Good Samaritan Program from 10 a.m. to noon daily. The program is located at the St. Vincent de Paul dining hall, 437 West 200 South, SLC. To sign up, text 801-793-5679.
