Protestant Reformation Series — Wednesday, Oct. 18, 7 p.m. Pastor Jerrod Lowry will lead a discussion on “Calvin’s Experience: Reformed and Always Reforming” at the Community of Grace Presbyterian Church, 2015 E. Newcastle Way, Sandy. Free and open to the public.

Cardinal Bechara Boutros al-Rahi Visit — Friday, Oct. 20, beginning with a Divine Liturgy at 6 p.m., a celebration will be held in honor of the visit of Cardinal Bechara Boutros al-Rahi, Patriarch of the Maronite Catholic Church, to Salt Lake City. Organ Fest X —Friday, Oct. 20, 8 p.m. in the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 E. South Temple, SLC. Featuring the five organists from the Salt Lake Tabernacle as well as the organist at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, Gabriele Terrone. Free and open to the public. Since the festival began in 2008, the same five organists from the Tabernacle have performed, but with anticipated retirements, this will be the final year to feature these performers.

 

Our Lady of Fatima Talk — Saturday, Oct. 21, noon - 3 p.m. in the St. Marguerite Catholic Church parish hall, 15 S. 7th St., Tooele. Guest speaker Terry Barber from Immaculate Heart Radio will speak on “Living the Fatima Message” and “How to Share Your Faith with Anyone.” The talk is free; however, a collection will be taken. Not Quite Halloween Fundraiser — Saturday, Oct. 21, 6-9 p.m. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 3015 E. Creek Road, Sandy. This will be a sit-down dinner with prime rib or salmon. Film Screening — the documentary “Open Bethlehem” by Leila Sansour will be screened Nov. 9 in the Juan Diego CHS main auditorium, 300 East 11800 South, Draper. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. The movie starts at 6:30 p.m., followed by a Q&A with the director and a reception.

Catechist Certification — Basic level, video-assisted training for the formation and enrichment of catechists in parish and Catholic school settings. Requires 36 hours for certification, which is valid for three years. Classes are every other Saturday from Oct. 21 to May 26, 9-11 a.m. at Holy Family Parish, 1100 East 5550 South, Ogden.
