Western foster children await permanent homes

SALT LAKE CITY — In the August 25 issue of the Intermountain Catholic we introduced you to the Binsfelds, a Minnesota family with eight children, five of them adopted. Neal and Jeanne Binsfeld and their children were traveling from Minnesota to California making stops in each state to heighten awareness of the needs of local children in foster care who are hoping for adoptive homes.

Stacy Keller, adoption recruiter for The Adoption Exchange in Aurora Colo., has provided information on four children who, as school is starting this year, would like families to open their homes and hearts to them:

Brothers Adan and Gabriel are so close that some people think they are twins.

Gabriel can be found either playing video games, reading, or riding his bike. He is currently in the fourth grade and is doing very well academically.

Adan is a happy child who likes doing what his brother does. Adan is in the third grade and a professed lover of learning. He is working at grade level, and very much enjoys going to class.

These brothers are close and have asked for a family who will tell them "they don’t have to move again." Gabriel and Adan also have siblings with whom they need to remain in contact. They are each currently participating in mental health therapy which will need to continue after placement.

All families will be considered. Financial assistance may be available for adoption-related expenses. All out-of-state families must have approved home studies at the time of their inquiries.

If the television show "Dancing with the Stars" is looking for a new contestant, Angela is their girl. Angela loves to dance and sing. If Angela isn’t practicing her Fred Astaire moves, she can be found befriending nearby pets.

Angela is in the eighth grade where she tries very hard to get her work done. Her teachers describe her as being respectful, punctual, and full of effort to do well. Angela does well socially, even though she can be quite shy.

Angela’s caseworker feels that she would do best in a family with two parents where Angela could be the youngest child. However, all families will be considered.

Say "Hello" to Bo! Bo’s main goal in life is to have a family who cares about each other and treats each other with respect. He has many interests, including basketball, baseball, Yu-gi-oh cards, cooking, computer games, and drawing. Bo also has a special place in his heart for marine animals like dolphins and orca whales.

Bo is in the sixth grade and does very well in school. He has a goal to never let his GPA fall below a 3.0, but he typically receives almost all A’s on his report cards. He wants to graduate from high school and go to college so that his goal of becoming a marine biologist will be realized.

Bo is a very polite person who does well with adult relationships. He is working very hard to maintain positive peer relationships and has made great strides with his friends.

Bo would be a fantastic addition to any family who would support him in his dreams and encourage the hard work he puts forth to make those dreams come true.

All families will be considered. Financial assistance may be available for adoption-related assistance.
