March 23, 1933 ~ May 15, 2018
Our most beloved, kind, sweet, classy, witty, giving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, mother-in-law, and dear friend to all that knew her, Joann Delcene Masock Corona, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2018.
Joann was born to Alex Marian and Theresa Bruno Masock, the fourth of eight children, in Salt Lake City, on March 23, 1933. On May 15, 2018, she lost her battle with dementia.
Joann shared her birthday with two of her sisters, Francis and Charlotte, but they weren’t triplets. They were born in different years. For that honor the three were featured in an article in the Salt Lake Tribune. This was a rare event and worthy of recognition.
Joann worked for the PAX company as the office manager for most of her career. She did pretty much everything: accounting, payroll, procurement and, before computers, key punch and data entry. She was the office manager extraordinaire!
Joann married Rogelio (Halo) Corona on October 31, 1952. They were married for 55 years until Halo passed away in 2007.
Joann lived for her family. She enjoyed spending time with her daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also had great times and fond memories with her siblings, extended family and friends.
She is survived by her two daughters, Dianna Corona Naccarato (Steve) and Gina Corona Cecala; her grandchildren; great-grandchildren; sisters Francis, Charlotte and Jimaleen; and brothers Paul and John.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rogelio (Halo) Corona; parents; grandparents; brothers Felix and Alex; and brothers-in-law.
A vigil for Joann was celebrated on May 29, 2018 and a Mass on May 30, 2018 at Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Canyon Creek Senior Living and Millcreek Hospice Home Health for their kindness and support during this difficult time. The staff loved JoJo and always commented on her beautiful blue eyes. Everyone who knew her loved JoJo.
Give her eternal rest, O Lord and may your light shine on her forever. Amen.
