April 12, 1952 ~ November 3, 2018

Today my best friend and love has left this world to be with Our Lord in heaven. Surrounded by his family and best friend, Jim passed November 3, 2018 from a courageous battle with cancer.

Jim worked at Jordan Valley and Holy Cross hospitals. He coached baseball for 14 years while watching his boys play the game from children to young adults in college. Football and CYO basketball were also sports he was involved in coaching. He loved watching his New York Yankees and attended several of their games, also loving the Notre Dame fighting Irish football team.

A celebration of life occurred for Jim on October 27 and Jim said it was “the greatest day.” Thank you to all who attended, to all who called, visited and prayed, helping to take Jim home. He left an impact on all who knew him from life to his last days.

Jim leaves behind his wife of 46 years, Edna Berg Gonzales; his sons Andrew (Misty) and Michael (Cheryl); his eight beautiful grandchildren; his sisters Margie (Terry) and Barbara (John); and brother Gene (Donna). He is now with his dad and mom, Raymond James and Mary Ontiveros Gonzales.

A funeral Mass was celebrated November 14 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Magna.

Our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Richard Frame and all the doctors and staff who took a part in the care of Jim. Special thanks to Brighton Home Health and Hospice for keeping him comfortable in his final days.
