Diocesan Pastoral Congress

The Diocese of Salt Lake City Pastoral Congress began Sept. 18. This year, each parish was asked to hold its own Pastoral Congress; in the past, the congress was held at one location and people from throughout the diocese gathered there. For this year’s congress, prerecorded messages were prepared from Bishop Oscar A. Solis and presenters from the Congar Institute. Father Sergio Serrano, OP, was the presenter for the Spanish message and Brother Loughlan Sofield, ST gave the presentation in English. While many parishes in the diocese held their Pastoral Congress on Sept. 18, others have made different arrangements. For example, St. George Parish will host theirs on Sept. 25 for the English-speaking community and on Oct. 9 for the Spanish-speaking community, while St. Vincent de Paul Parish is tentatively hosting theirs on Oct. 23.
