Catholics from throughout the greater Salt Lake area, including a group from St. Mary of the Assumption Parish in Park City, joined pro-life demonstrators across the street from the University of Utah on Oct. 7. prior to the vice-presidental debate between Mike Pence and Kamala Harris. Holding signs with nonpartisan messages such as “Babies Matter in Sandy, Utah”  and “Pray to End Abortion,” they were there “to speak for the voiceless,” said Mary Pat Dowd, a member of the Salt Lake Deanery Respect for Life Commission. “It’s not a partisan issue. This is an issue of life.” Shown are members of St. Ambrose Parish.
