Diocesan Rosary Congress — Oct. 7-10. Bishop Oscar Solis invites all Catholics to participate in a nationwide effort to have rosaries said across time zones for this week at 2 p.m. Utah time to pray for peace in the world, the conversion of the United States, an end to abortion, the sanctification of families and reparation for sin. Those who cannot pray the rosary at this time are asked to pray at a time that is convenient for them.

Opioid Crisis Summit— Friday, Oct. 12, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Vivint Smart Home Arena, 301 S. Temple, Salt Lake City. The Youth Summit will run from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and will include speakers, breakout sessions and entertainment designed to educate junior and high school students about the dangers of opioid addiction and encourage them to be a part of the solution. The adult session will follow a similar format from 1 to 5 p.m. Free and open to the public but preregistration at utahsolutionssummit.com is required. Youth should register under the school portal even if they attend individually with their parents. Adults should use the code “together” to have the $25 ticket fee waived.
