Fra Angelico Arts Festival — Saturday-Thursday, May 2-7 at Juan Diego CHS, 300 East 11800 South, Draper, featuring St. John the Baptist Middle School and Juan Diego CHS student art. The art awards ceremony will be 6:30 p.m. Tuesday May 3. 

 

Concert — featuring high school choir, jazz band, concert band, orchestra, percussion and steel drum band. Tuesday, May 3, 7 p.m. in the Juan Diego CHS Commons, 300 East 11800 South, Draper. Free and open to the public.

 

Parish Games — a fundraiser for Saint Patrick Parish, 1058 West 400 South, SLC. Wednesday, May 4, 5 p.m. Calling starts at 6 p.m. The theme is “Cinco de Mayo.” Mexican dinner is $5, includes soft drink and dessert. Must be 18 years or older.

Wild Birds of Great Salt Lake — presentation by wildlife photographer Rosalie Winard.  Thursday, May 5, 7 p.m. at St. Joseph CHS, 1790 Lake St., Ogden. Through the Aquinas Institute of SJCHS. Free and open to the public.  

 

Adoration of The Blessed Sacrament — with the intention for “next bishop of our diocese to come soon.” May 6, from 9:30 a.m. – 9:30 p.m. at St. Martin de Porres Parish, 4914 South 2200 West, Taylorsville. Sign-up available; everyone is welcome.

Steel Drum Showcase — Saturday, May 7, Concert featuring Juan Diego CHS steel drum players. 9 a.m.-5 p.m. in the JDCHS Great Hall, 300 East 11800 South, Draper. Free and open to the public.

Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord — is Sunday, May 8. The observance of this solemnity is transferred to the Seventh Sunday of Easter; Thursday, May 5, is observed as an Eastertime weekday.

Family in need — St. Joseph parishioners Maria and Juan Duenas have newborn quadruplets. A Go Fund Me account has been established for donations at https://www.gofundme.com/7kwrvgwk. While Juan is working two jobs, Maria cannot work at this time and they are having difficulties in paying their bills. Generosity in helping this young family is requested.

Summer Hockey League — The Catholic Independent Griffins are looking for boys and girls in 8th through 11th grade. The season runs mid-May through July, Cost: approximately $200. USA Hockey registration is required. To register, contact Moe van der Sluys, 801-232-4584. 

Healing Mass — Every third Saturday of the month at Sts. Peter and Paul Parish, 3560 West 3650 South, West Valley City. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 a.m., followed by Mass at 8 a.m.
