Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe — is Monday, Dec. 12. Check your parish for Mass times. Celebrations at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 E. South Temple, SLC, will begin Sunday at 8 p.m. with a rosary in Spanish, followed at 9:30 p.m. by an outdoor procession. At 10 p.m. will be a vigil with mariachi music and the Cathedral Spanish Choir. Mass will be celebrated at 11 p.m., followed by a reception. On Monday, Masses in English will be at 8 a.m., noon with the Madeleine Choir School, and 5:15 p.m.

Winter Dance Concert — Judge Memorial CHS’ 2016 Winter Concert, “60 Seconds Until Impact,” will be Dec. 14, 15 and 17, 7 p.m. each night, featuring student and professional dance choreography in the school’s dance studio, 650 South 1100 East, SLC. Admission is free; donations encouraged.

Advent Penance Service — Wednesday, Dec. 14, 10 a.m. after the schoolchildren’s confessions at St. Olaf Catholic Church, 276 East 1700 South, Bountiful.

Salt Lake Singers — perform a “Most Wondrous Night,” Friday, Dec. 16, 7:30 p.m. at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 2315 Redondo Ave., SLC. Free with a donation to the parish food pantry.

Christmas Carol Service — Friday, Dec. 16, 7:30 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 331 E. South Temple, SLC. The Choir of the Cathedral of the Madeleine, featuring the Choristers of the Madeleine Choir School, will perform the music of Luca Marenzio, Anton Bruckner and Herbert Howells. Free and open to the public.

Dinner and Game Night — Friday, Dec. 16, at Saint Thomas More Parish, 3015 E. Creek Road, Sandy. Cost: $14 for dinner and admittance. Dinner served at 6 p.m.; games start at 6:45 p.m.  

Pastoral Center closed — Friday, Dec. 16, at 11:30 a.m. for a staff Advent luncheon. The Pastoral Center will reopen 8:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 19.

Nativity Open House — to view nativities from around the world. Sunday, Dec. 18, noon to 5 p.m. at 1147 E. Herbert Ave. (1030 South), SLC. For information, call Carol at 801-597-9424.

Service of Lessons and Carols — by the Choir of Saint Ambrose. Monday, Dec. 19 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 2315 Redondo Ave., SLC. Enjoy hot cocoa and apple cider from 6 to 7 p.m. while singing carols around a fire, then take part in a presentation of Christmas music and reflections on the Mysteries of the Season.

A Ceremony of Carols Concert — Thursday, Dec. 22, 12:15 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 331 E. South Temple, SLC. The Choir of the Cathedral of the Madeleine, featuring the Choristers of the Madeleine Choir School, will perform Benjamin Britten’s “A Ceremony of Carols,” Op. 28. Free and open to the public.

Pastoral Center closed — Friday, Dec. 23, for the Christmas holiday. The Pastoral Center will reopen 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28.

Reserved Seating Passes — for the Christmas Midnight Mass at the Cathedral of the Madeleine are available by calling the rectory office, 801-328-8941. They are available to cathedral parishioners through Dec. 16. Beginning Dec. 17, the passes will be available to the general public. The passes, which are free, must be picked up the same day they are requested.  

Our Lady of the Snows Chapel — The celebration of the Mass has resumed at our Lady of the Snows Chapel in Alta. Masses will take place each Sunday at 5 p.m. throughout the ski season.  Mass for Christmas will be on Dec. 25 at 10 a.m. For information, call 801-272-9216.

Week of Prayer for Christian Unity — The Franciscan Friars of the Atonement are providing materials for the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, Jan. 18-25.  Supplemental materials for the week of prayer, including prayer guides, cards and posters, can be found on the website www.geii.org; prayer materials may be ordered in English or Spanish.
