“Lost Boys of Sudan” — A free screening of the documentary, hosted by Catholic Community Services of Utah, will be Friday, Aug. 26, 6-8:30 p.m. in Provo Library Conference Room 201, 550 N. University Ave., Provo. A panel discussion with one of the Lost Boys and other former refugees will follow. In lieu of admission, a donation of a first-aid kit, a fire extinguisher, or a financial contribution is requested. The donations will be given to newly arrived refugee families. St. Francis Xavier Parish Festival — Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 27-28, 10 a.m.-8 p.m., 4501 West 5215 South Kearns. Food booths, drinks, concessions, and games, including steer roping and mechanical bull riding. Proceeds will go toward the parish’s capital campaign.

First Friday Mass — and rosary and social with The Catholic Woman’s League. Fall Festival — Saturday, Sept. 3, 11 a.m.-5 p.m., St. Lawrence Mission, 5 South 100 West, Heber City. Beer garden, food, music, farmers market and bake sale, petting zoo, children’s games. All are invited. Dogs on leash are welcome.  

Labor Day — The Diocese of Salt Lake City Pastoral Center will be closed Monday, Sept. 5, for the Labor Day holiday. 
Level I Training — for Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion. Thursday, Sept. 8, 6-9:30 p.m. at the Diocese of Salt Lake City Chancery Building, 303 E. Folk Fest — at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 7405 S. Redwood Road, West Jordan. The three-day festival begins at 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9, and goes through Sunday, Sept. 11, at 5 p.m. Live music and entertainment, food booths, beer garden, car show, craft fair, Highland games, outdoor Mass and brunch on Sunday, bounce house and blowup rides for kids.  Youth Bulldog Boogie — All boys and girls ages 5 and up are invited to participate in the 28th annual Bulldog Boogie halftime extravaganza on the McCarthey Stadium field on Friday, Sept. 9.
