Open Gallery Nights — at the Cathedral of the Madeleine. Friday and Sunday, Jan. 17 and Jan. 19, 7:30 p.m. nightly. Lay Dominican Open House — Sunday, Jan. 19, 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 3015 E. Creek Road, Cottonwood Heights. Sponsored by the St. Catherine of Siena Lay Dominican Chapter, the open house will provide information for those interested in learning   about the lay Dominicans. Bilingual Rosary at the Monument for the Unborn — Sunday, Jan. 19, 2 p.m. at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 275 U St., Salt Lake City.

Carmelite Holy Hour — Sunday, Jan. 19, 3 p.m. at the Carmelite monastery, 5714 Holladay Blvd., SLC. Join the Carmelite nuns and the Knights of Columbus #5214 as they pray for our Holy Catholic Church and our nation. There will be Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, the rosary, a homily and benediction.

40 Hours Devotion for Vocations — Jan. 19-25. St. Ambrose Catholic Church, SLC will have a 40-hour period of prayer before the Blessed Sacrament in solemn exposition with a special emphasis for vocations. Contact the parish for details.

Mass of the Unborn — Tuesday, Jan. 21, 6 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 E. South Temple, SLC. This Mass, with Bishop Oscar A. Solis presiding, will be in English and Spanish, and sign language interpreted. All are welcome.  

Admissions Open House — Tuesday, Jan. 21, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Judge Memorial CHS, 650 South 1100 East, SLC.

Utah March for Life — Saturday, Jan. 25, 12:15 p.m. Meet on the first floor at the Hall of Governors, Utah State Capitol to say the rosary with the Knights of Columbus, followed by a 0.75 mile-walk around the Capitol at 1 p.m.

March for Life Buses — Saturday, Jan. 25. Two parishes are hosting a bus each to carry people to the March for Life. From St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 3015 E. Creek Road, Cottonwood Heights, the bus will leave at 11 a.m. and return about 4 p.m. To register, e-mail MoreRespectForLife@stmutah.org by Jan. 13. St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 7405 S. “Shrek the Musical Jr.” — Wednesday, Jan. 29, 7 p.m. in the Juan Diego CHS auditorium, 300 East 11800 South, Draper. Presented by Saint John the Baptist Catholic Schools and Soaring Eagle Drama Club. Admission is free.

Deacon Ordination — Friday, Jan. 31, 7 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 E. South Temple. Bishop Oscar A. Solis will ordain five men as permanent deacons for the Diocese of Salt Lake City All are invited.

Respect for the Dignity of Life Day — Saturday, Feb. 1, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 7405 S. Redwood Road, West Jordan. Jean Hill, director of the diocesan Office of Justice and Peace, will teach advocacy skills to enable participants to advocate for pro-life legislation from a Catholic perspective.

Msgr. Benvegnu Lecture — Monday, Feb. 3, 7 p.m. “The Healing Ministry in the Church: A Lay Approach” at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1375 E. Spring Lane, SLC. Rosemary Baron, a chaplain at Intermountain Medical Center, will present an integrated look at how healing is possible physically, emotionally, spiritually and intellectually. Free and open to the public.

Call For Art Entries — The Salt Lake Diocese Commission for People with Disabilities is looking for work by artists with disabilities to highlight in an upcoming exhibit, “Creating Voice Through Art.” The event will feature a “Meet the Artists” reception on Friday, April 24.  Submissions will be accepted through Monday, March 2. Parish Games Night — every Saturday, 5-9:30 p.m. at St. Lawrence Mission, 5 South 100 West, Heber. The price for games and food is $15. All profits go to support the building fund for the new church.
