A Stitch in Time — Aug. 28, Give Me a Chance, a ministry of the Daughters of Charity, will celebrate a charity event to benefit its programs that help low-income women gain self-sufficiency. Saint Francis Xavier Festival — Saturday, Aug. 29, 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Drinks and games for the whole family, a raffle that includes $500 in cash, 40-inch HDTV with stand, electric meat smoker, silent auction and more. The festival has a Disney theme, and all are invited to come dressed in their favorite character.

St. Olaf Youth Group 5K — Saturday, Aug. 29, 8 a.m. at the parish’s McNamara Center, 350 East 1800 South in Bountiful. All proceeds will go to support youth group activities. Folkfest — Sept. 11-13, at Saint Joseph the Worker Parish, 7405 S. Redwood Road, West Jordan. Harvest Festival Run/ Walk — Saturday, Sept. 12, at St. Mary Parish, 4050 South 3900 West, West Haven. Includes a 5K run and 1.5-mile walk, ending with a presentation of awards and breakfast.
