2021 Carmelite Fair Canceled

Because the changing COVID environment has given the Carmelite nuns of the Carmel of the Immaculate Heart of Mary monastery in Salt Lake City insufficient time to plan, they have announced that this year’s Carmelite fair has been canceled. They assure the community that they continually pray for everyone as we weather this crisis together. Without the fair, which provides a significant portion of the monastery’s income, the nuns rely even more on the public’s generosity. If you are able, the nuns would be very grateful to receive your support. On Sept. 19 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., volunteers will be at the monastery selling the nuns’ candy and jam, which also are available for purchase on other days. In addition, donations may be made online at https://www.carmelslc.org or mailed to the monastery at 5714 Holladay Blvd., Salt Lake City, UT 84121.
