St. Vincent first graders celebrate the saints

SALT LAKE CITY — "I am St. Anthony, one of the most loved saints in the Church. I was a great teacher. If something is lost and can’t be found, pray to me and I’ll look around," said Zach Brackett, (as St. Anthony) a first-grader at St. Vincent de Paul School, Salt Lake City.

PLEASANT VIEW — Deacon Bud Jennings Wardle, 90, died Nov. 4, 2006, in his sleep. Deacon Wardle, finished serving at the altar of God and began standing at the side of God. He died peacefully.

HELPER — There was enough enthusiasm to fill three parish halls Nov. 4, the last day of St. Anthony of Padua Parish’s three-day Fall Carnival. Walking up one flight of stairs in the parish religious education building, to the gym, parishioners, neighbors, and Helper townspeople found a host of booths, games, and goodies to eat.

PRICE — The people of Notre Dame de Lourdes Parish in Price have seen a lot of changes over the past few years, including the loss of their beloved Daughters of Charity. The closing of Notre Dame de Lourdes Regional School in 1999 is still the source of hurt feelings. But now, the parish is moving forward with plan to build a new religious education and social center, said Pastor Father Donald E. Hope.

BOUNTIFUL — Randy was arrested for aggravated kidnapping, aggravated assault, and aggravated robbery. He is an inmate at the Utah State Prison, and said a lot of things led up to the bad choices he made, including being a heroin addict. His worst mistake was not listening to his parents, his wife, his sisters, and his friends. He is now ashamed of what he has done and the people he has hurt.
